The First Lady, who said this yesterday at the 2018 Annual Conference and General Meeting of the Institute of Strategic Management Nigeria (ISMN), Delta State Chapter, in Asaba, explained that planning without discipline in any field or endeavour would only lead to waste and failure.
According to her, “As individuals or leaders who are in charge of portfolios, businesses, homes or even Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), we must all exercise discipline and plan reasonably when it comes to dealing with managing the limited resources that are available because as a nation; we are still facing challenging times economically.”
“As a founder of an organisation that helps the less- privileged in the society, I understand the importance of managing resources smartly, to get the best result; so, I implore that discipline be engaged in order to get the best outcome,” she added. She commended the institute for holding the conference which included civil servants, individuals from the public sector as well as government officials and called for training of individuals, especially youths on how to properly plan and manage resources, so as to become productive.
Delivering the keynote address titled “Driving and Sustaining Government Projects, Policies And Programmes to the Grassroots,” the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Research and Communications, Mr. Innocent Ojefia, stated that the best way for government’s impact to be felt in the grassroots was for the people to be proactive and participate fully, not only on how they are governed, but also in the development process, especially at the community level.
